What Causes Bunions?
Bunions form due to a variety of factors, including an active lifestyle!
Improperly fitting shoes:
A bunion causes pain when walking; or can form initially if your shoes don't have enough room in the toe box. You should find Shoes with large toe boxes to be a relief if your current shoes are causing bunions.
Foot type:
A foot that pronates, or rolls inward excessively when walking, has a higher tendency for forming bunions. Other symptoms of foot bunion pain include swelling, redness or pain of the joint at the base of your big toe.
Bunion sufferers can prevent/treat bunions by wearing better shoes or by using products such as a bunion brace, bunion cushion, or gel bunion pad.
If a bunion does form, quickly determine the cause of the bunion and take preventative measures. You should consult a podiatrist to learn more about how to treat and prevent bunion pain if this is happening to you on a regular basis.
